Borrowing and Returning
  • Current students and staff of MJII automatically registered as Shizuoka Library members who may borrow library materials. Individuals not affiliated with the MJII may use the library but may not borrow materials unless they have been granted special borrowing privileges.
  • Library members must present a student card/ staff card  in order to borrow library materials
  • Student cards/ staff card is not transferable.
  • Library materials must be returned in good condition at the circulation desk.

Overdue Notification
 
  • Patrons are responsible for returning the materials they borrow by the due date. As a courtesy, reminder notices are sent to patrons when the book becomes overdue.
  • Late return of the book will interfere with the right of other library users. Therefore, users who fail to return the boorowed items before or on the due date will be given the 1st reminder letter (7 days after due date), 2nd reminder letter (14 days after due date) anf 3rd reminder letter (21 days after due date).
  • Shizuoka Library has the right to hold loan and other services to the users if the borrowed item has not been returned after the notice is issued.
  • Student scrolls/transcripts will be hold if  students fail to return the borrowed item until graduation.
Library Items Lost
If any item is lost, the library should be notified immediately in writing overdue fines continue to be assessed until notification is received and/or until the maximum fine is reached.
All items not returned before the maximum fine is reached will be considered lost.
 
 
Renewal

Items borrowed from Shizuoka Library may be renewed for an additional loan period up to three times. After the third time, the items must be returned to the circulation desk from which they were checked out. The following materials may not be renewed:

  • reserve materials, including electronic items
  • items on hold
  • items held by a borrower whose ID is blocked
  • materials that have been renewed up to ten times
Non-reserve items may be renewed at the circulation desk by presenting the items for renewal along with a current ID membership.
 
Substitution of Loss / Damage Material
Lost /Damage material need to be reported at library counter. The period of two weeks is given to the borrower to find/replace the materials.
